About Institution
Siddapur Institute of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences, Siddapur, established in the year 2023 by Shikshana Prasarak Samiti ® Siddapur, with an intention of imparting the knowledge of the Science of Naturopathy and to cater the health care needs of the people.
The college offers 51/2 years BNYS (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences) Medical Degree Course, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and recognized by Govt. of Karnataka. The intake capacity is 50 students every year.
Being the only Naturopathy medical college in the entire district of Uttara Kannada the institution provides a systematic approach towards the science inculcating the ancient principles of Naturopathy & Yoga along with the modern medical sciences. The college set in slush green habitat of Sahyadris, Westernghats which is home for traditional Naturopathy & Yoga practices provides a great platform to the scholars to carry on the research in this stream of medicine.
Apart from the academic activities students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities like NSS, sports, cultural for physical and mental wellbeing. The college is set in a huge campus that also include hospital, laboratory, hostel facilities, canteen, auditorium, Yoga Hall and playground. The classrooms are well ventilated, spacious with advanced methods of teaching such as Audio- visual teaching aids, library, well equipped dissection theatre and maintained with well trained staff.
About Courses
The under-graduate courses at SINYS aim at recognizing the health needs of the community to carry out professional obligations ethically and in keeping with the objectives of the national health policy. It functions to develop the skills the competencies required to deliver Naturopathy and Yoga health care system.
The courses enable a student to expertly diagnose and manage common diseases and health problems of individuals as well as community, and work with the health team as a fully qualified doctor at primary, secondary or tertiary levels, with his/her clinical experience and skills in history, physical examination and relevant investigations.
The courses motivate the students to be proficient in promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative medicine and therapy for common health issues.
Duration
Duration of the course shall be 5 ½ years (Five and half years). The course shall include a period of regular study of four and a half (4 ½) years, followed by a compulsory rotatary internship of one year.
Intake
Intake capacity currently restriction to 50 students per year.
